Diamonds are forever is the only one I dont have I think. That and 'OHMSS', which is probably yhte best early film in a number of ways: George Lazenby wasnt too bed but itd have been better with Sean Connery.

OHMSS was an excellent film, especially the ski scene with the music that the propellor heads remixed, the best bond tune they did.

I think it was OHMSS anyway

All good in their own right.

I like them all for different reasons.

However - The Man With The Golden Gun has me in tears. Pure Moore at his best.

Dalton did Bond way more harm than good.

Best film? Difficult to say
Favourite? Probably Diamonds are Forever.
Best theme? Nobody does it better, by a mile

all IMHO, of course
Dalton was the closest character to The Bond as he was in the books.

Exactly. I would assume an extremely high % of people watching bond movies have never read the books.

Probably says a lot that I liked LTK the best because it wasn't like the others !

This film was to be called "Licence Revoked" but straw poll in the US found that most people there didn't know what "revoked" meant !!

I agree 100%

He is my favourate Bond actor followed by Connery.

Great film too, the start with the parachute jump onto Gibralta and the ensuing action sequence - excellent (unrivaled IMHO).

The best Bonds are:-

From Russia With Love
Goldeneye
Live and Let Die

The worst, beyond a shadow of a doubt are:-

Moonraker
Diamonds are Forever

Most of the others are fairly middle of the road films.

I would say the best 4 me was.

For your eyes only, with the plot twist the good guy actually was the villain

and

View to a kill, just because of Christopher Walken and the way he played Zorin

I agree

as for best film, Goldfinger.

I'm a die hard traditional Bond fan, so its got to be the old films for me. Still watch the new ones, but the CGI and over the top stunt sequences leave me a little cold.

Can't wait!! I already have a personalised autograph to me from Sir Roger Moore's, so with George's only another three to go......

Agree OHMSS has the best locations and plot.
From Russia With Love is my favourite film (and favourite book)
You Only Live Twice (instrumental version) is my fave theme

Whilst on the subject anyone who hasn't read the books yet should do it. If you already have read them I'd recommend the new book about James Bond's early years (first of a planned series). It's called Silverfin and is (very well IMHO) written by Charlie Higson, better known as Ralph in the Fast Show.

Is this what they're going to turn into a film/series starring Orlando Bloom?

I disagree re dalton being nearest to the Bond in the books. They are all equal in being miles away imo.Connery in FRWL came closest imo

Dalton was definitely the nearest to Ian Fleming's books, in that he was the toughest (he sought revenge, he resigned, he ignored his orders)........

Bit of Bond trivia for you all; Licence to Kill was actually originally titled Licence Revoked, but after audience teasers, it was changed because a large proportion of Americans didn't know what revoked meant!!!
