Default Handed in my notice today after 10 years!

Handed in my notice after 10 years at the same place,
I have been a manager of a manufacturing type business for all this time but finally due to poor wages and lack of prospects i feel it is time to move on.
My question is - If anyone knows of any good jobs going for a very hard working reliable person , who can learn any trade in a very short space of time, preferably in Warwickshire area please let me know, as i am not the sort of person to laze around for any amount of time.

Cheers

Paul.

You handed in your notice with no idea of what you were going to do next?

That's a spontaneous career move...

I can assure you it was not spontaneous , i have been thinking about it for the last 18 months , also i have my house forsale to free up cash to start my own business but until then i would like to continue working if possible. Its not that i dont know what i am doing next more that i dont know when.

Surely waiting in the old job until that 'when' happens would have been the best move?

However, I admire your courage!!

You sure you weren't ''asked'' to resign?????

Maybe you handing your notice in will wake them up to the fact that they need to raise your salary? Happened to me many a time.

If i had waited in this job i may have been there forever. I have given one months notice ,so this should be ample time for a man of my calibre to find a new job.
Mate my boss was gutted this morning when he opened my letter!

But not gutted enough to raise my salary!
Besides the salary the job was going nowhere anyway. Just same old same old every day every year.

10 years is a bit long to be honest anyway mate, you need a change otherwise you'll be regretting it in later life I reckon. I stayed at my last job for 3 1/2 years and I was getting pretty bored by the end. Could do it standing on my head and needed more of a challenge to keep me on my toes, I certainly got it

get looking quick,

register with some of the professional recruitment companys pronto

it looks better if your employed when you go for a job, (shows stability etc)

the first question they will ask, if your out of work is "why did you walk"

makes a good reply seem a bit pointless

Congrats tho
