TomTom GO V5 now downloadable !
With no fanfare, and described as the May 2005 release, TomTom have put their new 5.00 software up.
I just downloaded and installed it, no probs at all. Lots of enhancements, and free....

New maps to follow, but they won't be free.

This is just TomTom GO though as far as I can see, TomTom Navigator 5 for the PDA doesn't seem to have been released yet. Looks like they have sorted a lot of the things out that were buggin me in version 3 though.

Great news and fantastic timing, I've just used mine to find my way through France so needed to hook it back up for the UK maps anyhow.
The new ones with Bluetooth phone support look a bit tasty!

Now I arrive at my appointment on time, stress free and relaxed. Some of the outposts I've visited in Cornwall for instance, well no way would I have found them without this little box of tricks.
As for this upgrade. Wow what a bunch of great new features. It just got a whole lot better. I can't believe I'll ever spend a better 400 notes.

TomTom is just great for finding new ways to places you travel to reguarly.
Hell we (me and the wife) tried it when we (she!) first got it... Somewhere nearby... Okay Kedleston Hall.. from Mickleover.
We thought down Station Rd, turn right, Ashbourne Rd, blah, blah, blah.
Nope.
Turn LEFT, follow rd - straight OVER A52 (but you can't!!!! Oh yes you bloody can) etc etc... Incredibly quicker and we didn't even know where we were until we turned the corner and there was the Hall.
Good stuff.

There's a link from the home page (Site seems to be a bit up and down at the mo)
When ordering you need the product code from your original pack.
They send new software - not a download.
