Immigrants poem
Got sent this earlier, pretty funny - but maybe SIAL!
I come for visit, get treated regal,
So I stay, who care I illegal?
I cross border, poor and broke,
Take bus, see employment folk.
Nice man treat me good in there,
Say I need to see welfare.
Welfare say, "You come no more,
We send plenty cash right to your door."
Welfare cheques, they make you wealthy,
NHS, it keep you healthy!
By and by, I got plenty money,
Thanks to you, British dummy.
Write to friends in motherland,
Tell them come as fast as you can.
They come in rags on the back of trucks,
I buy big house with welfare bucks.
They come here, we live together,
More welfare cheques, it gets better!
Fourteen families they moving in,
But neighbour's patience wearing thin.
Finally, British guy moves away,
Now I buy his house, and then I say,
"Find more aliens for house to rent."
And in the yard I put a tent.
Send for family (they just trash),
But they, too, draw the welfare cash!
Everything is mucho good,
And soon we own the neighbourhood.
We have hobby-it's called breeding,
Welfare pay for baby feeding.
Kids need dentist? Wife need pills?
We get free! We got no bills!
Britishman crazy! He pay all year,
To keep us illegals in comfort here.
We think UK is very good place!
Much too good for the British race.
If they not like us, they can go,
There's lots of room elsewhere you know....

I wish I could see the funny side of it
Just add your tax, nat ins, mortgage payments/rent and council tax together for a year and then imagine what it would be like to have that in your pocket like these ****s.
The governments money is "our" money after all

pretty funny or pretty xenophobic?
Most immigrants go to the UK work and they often take the lowest paying jobs that most Brits would turn their noses up at, like picking fruit and veg. The UK has low unemployment rates right now and without extra labour coming into the bottom of the employment pool there would be restrictions on the economy. And so long as they are working legitimately (and not being exploited by unscrupulous people) then they will be paying tax and national insurance.
I think it's a good idea to have immigration quotas like the US and Australia, but whoever wrote that "poem" clearly had an anti-immigrant axe to grind.

Come to Sheffield; the city centre is full of illegal immigrants claiming assylum; they hang around in gangs and are responsible for a large increase in street crime.
Countries who have a 'quota' such as Australia are very difficult to emigrate to; I dont think that I would have a chance unless my brother sponsored me. Are you suggesting that the people to whom this poem refers would be able to legally enter the United States or Australia? The wouldnt have a hope; but here we have a weak government who are too afraid of being accused of being 'rascist' by weak liberals to even enfoce the current laws (repatriation to the first EU country of entry).

We are mixing up illegal and legal immigrants again.
I don't have an issue with allowing in sufficient workers from other countries to make up for the shortfall (although we don't have 100% employment) but the numbers should be controlled, i.e. don't allow more in than we have jobs for.
The illegals should be stopped and deported, end of.
Again, we should do our bit and allow a quota of assylum seekers (those who would not be safe in their own country) in each year, but again there needs to be realistic limits set here.

hmmmm - saw a slightly more 'racist' version of this very poem about 10 years ago!
The last line read - 'Plenty room in Pakistan!'
It's just been amended to fit in with the current issues - 10 years ago indian/pakistani immigration - today eastern european immigration.

This is the reason i moved away from the south east of England, walking home after a night out, you honestly would think you was in some other eastern european country, and never knew what language to speak when they tried to mug you!

I think its pretty spot on - or are we all working with well qualified eastern european counterparts in our offices at the moment. I'm not.
Most indians and pakistanis in my neck of the woods, hold well paid, high level jobs - nurses, doctors, dentists, lawers and work hard for their education and wages and seem to be integrating well with the rest of society.

There are procedures that need to be followed if you wish to relocate to a different country. These need to be followed, if you don't, then you should be kicked back to wherever you came from.
I think there does need to be a quota set on immigrants, it won't solve the problem, but it might ease things a little.
I've no qualms with illegal immigrants being rounded up and kicked out. where to? well, a sealed container that's dropped in the north sea is a good idea. Might those who are wishing to enter the UK illegally a clue that we are not happy about it. Oh, I forgot, you can't do things like that, it's not humane, what a shame. Sometimes a harsh message needs to be sent

I've got the red laced DM's on at the moment
****? No, just not wanting the UK filled with illegals. Actually, you can pop those who dodge tax, and those comitting benefit fraud into the same sealed container too.
