But that's no reason to let them carry on, they need to be turfed out just to stop them getting really cocky in the next term, they are getting away with all sorts of crap, it won't get better unless they get a clear message - and apathy isn't going to send much of a message.

There are no depths to which that lot won't sink to cling to power.

Cool

It's a sorry story, but if you believe for one second that there are not people in all three major parties who are willing to exploit this problem, then you are extremely niaive.

The actual number of votes fraudulently counted was small anyway, it's unlikely that an election like a general one would return a false result anyway.

They will win because everyone I know is not voting. Only the militant left will bother, and they will vote Labour because the SWP are a joke.

Its too early to predict what the result will be as yet. There may be a much larger part of the electorate than we realise who see through NL and realise the dangers associated with a further term. They may well feel that it is a better bet to give another party a chance than to re-elect a party which has demonstrated its incompetence and self serving ambitions beyond all doubt.

Possibly,but VERY unlikely.
Given that Labour havent made any MAJOR ****-ups,and the Tories dont inspire you, overturning a 150 majority just wont happen.

Sorry Les,even you must see that.

Honest, there really are WMD in Iraq ........ I'd say invading a country and getting it wrong counts as a pretty enormous ****-up, wouldn;t you?

Having said that, they'll win, Howard will hand on for 6 months then resign, and the LibDems will get more seats but still be a bit-part player. Overall Labour majority of 60-85, I'd say.

Not according to the polls:

"It follows a poll earlier this week showing the Conservatives leading Labour by 2.2% among people certain to vote in the election expected on May 5.

The Telegraph poll showed trust was a real problem for Labour with 63% saying the Government was "not honest". Just 26% said it was honest."

Exactly what Les is saying seems to be happening.

Yes you may be right with the wishful thinking. Thats why I say its too early to predict, but one can only hope. Hate to see this country go completely down the tubes!

Still let the New Labour loyalists dream on.

Remember - there's no point voting Labour can't lose.

In the interests of fair play, the entire article UB posted the link to ..... shows a confused pictures, but even now, more people support Blair to be PM than Howard. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, the Tories could have had this if only they'd selected a more credible leader.

"Labour and the Tories are running virtually neck and neck, a new poll shows.

The parties are separated by just 1% in the YouGov poll for the Daily Telegraph.

The poll puts Labour at 35% - down three points since February - and the Tories on 34% - up two points.

The Liberal Democrats are at 22% - up 1%.

It follows a poll earlier this week showing the Conservatives leading Labour by 2.2% among people certain to vote in the election expected on May 5.

The Telegraph poll showed trust was a real problem for Labour with 63% saying the Government was "not honest". Just 26% said it was honest.

However, just 21% said a future Tory government would be honest and trustworthy and 56% saying it would not.

The poll found 32% of people think Tony Blair makes the best Prime Minister. Some 23% said Michael Howard would make the best premier.

And 55% disapprove of the Government's record to date, compared to 32% who approve."

Out of interest, where do they get their figures for these polls? I know I've never been asked my opinion by them, and nobody I know has been asked either....

It's statistics, so it's closer to a lie, but they do have a tendancy to be pretty acurate. I still doubt the Conservatives will win, although they are improving in the polls, but whoever does win this time, I doubt their majority will be significant.

Not had any political parties call, did have some marketing company call a few weeks back, when I asked for all their details for reporting, as I was registered with the TPS the line went strangely dead
