Question Why Is It??

Why is it when you have a film on Video/DVD you never watch it beyond the first time ................

But, it comes on TV and you make a special effort to watch it!!??

This question springs to mind as I sit and watch Billy Elliot for the umpteenth time!!

Anyone got an expaination for this??

Typically it's because we're lazy and find life much easier if someone else make decisions for us.
Either that or you lack inspiration.
Not sure but I'm doing the same thing right now.
Perhaps I'm just tight and I don't want to wear the video out!

I was going to watch Billy Elliot too, but I decided that nailing my ***** to the kitchen table would have been more appealing, so did that instead

More importantly ~ why do people watch films repeatedly? There are so many different ones out there that you probably couldn't view them all in a lifetime, so why watch one film over and over ? Just do not understand that mind set.

This is bizarre to me!!

I steadfastly refuse to watch a movie on TV or Sky if I own the DVD. I've never broken it yet. Why waste time watching it on telly if you can watch it whenever you like??

Craig.

I've never understood the buying of DVD's and Videos. Cheaper to go to the cinema, rent or watch on TV.

"Cheaper to go to the cinema"

Not if there's three of you, you have to drive 10 miles to get there, and you buy a small popcorn

I couldn't watch one film 'repeatedly' - but there are some films I want to watch more than once, and others I keep for specific reasons. If I've had a crap day at work I'll stick on Men in Black or The Dish to make me chuckle. If I'm having a girly night in it's more likely to be Die Hard.

Just because there are a lot of films doesn't mean there are a lot worth watching.......

PMSL! The cinema is nearly £6 a ticket where I live, popping corn is more expensive than platinum by the ounce and drinks are only sold by the gallon (when all you want is about half a pint of liquid refreshment).

And why do television networks insist on showing films that have been on television before? It really gets on my ****.

We all get a sense of coming together when watching a film on TV, a kind of warm satisfaction knowing we are not alone.

A DVD is a lonely event.

Besides, it annoys the hell out of me that almost all films are now watered down to be able to fit into the 12A classification. Meaning that elements that could very well ADD to the film, have to be cut out or simply never shot, so as to allow groups of noisy, obnoxious 11 year olds who insist on giggling and making noise throughout the entire film, to be admitted.

Anyone disagree? Then why did they make 2 versions of King Arthur? One without any blood, swearing and 20-odd minutes shorter. Which one did they show at the cinema? That's right: the edited version.

And who says the film industry is all about money...
