Wink anyone thinking of becoming a computer programmer..

some observations of pc life.... your meant to be the clever guys,,

why dont you incorperate it???? or fix it!!

1) Being able to use the numeric keypad when using shift on single letters/ number combinations.. cant be that hard can it??

2) Cutting/ copying and pasting, when i want to copy a picture into exel, i dont want to be told the cell is merged or the wrong size... i want to paste the picture,, if its wrong, i can use the undo button.

3) I dont want splash screens, i payed enough money for the bloody software and licence in the first place, without having to endure your splash screen every time as a reminder!!

4) I want a pc that starts as soon as you turn it on... We dont wait 1 minute for lights to come on when you turn them on do we.. i dont recall sky going through a boot up routine everytime its turned on..

5) I want a pc that turns off when i press the button, not waits while it writes stuff to disk, and verifies its ok before turning off, how many mis saves or data problems would this prevent.. and if MS say its to make the pc quicker ... its a lie it still takes ages to boot, and it has nothing to save!!

6) Default programs. the program i use to read my email listen music / watch movies is the programe i want to use. I specified it, i dont want every bloody possible application wanting to be the default player..... if there that good, they should integrate seamlessly and not need to ask stupid questions everytime i want to listen to a track.

7) Shared files... if you uninstall a program, it should know which files are its own, and which are shared!!! any program that uninstalls shared files that it didnt install should have its programmers and managing director shot!, how would you feel if bbc closed down for the night, and removed itv in the process???

8) manuals on disk. why ?? you cant play the latest creation without a manual , of which they are so bloody complex, you need a sodding forest to get one printed. youve just relieved me of stupid money, the least you could do is give me a hardcopy manual!!!

9) PDF files... why do they have to be so sodding rigid and unwieldy. take ages to load and then needs a bloody degree to print one page... and invariably its the wrong one or size.

10) photo printing software. When i view a picture and want to print it, i want it to fill the page. not sit in one corner like a bloody postage stamp.. would the programmer of this programe accept pictures from his local camera shop like this???? no !!! so why should we??

any one else got any that really pee them off

lol

I do believe I have not used a floppy for at least 2 years. In fact I don't even own a computer with a floppy drive.

Add to the list (at least for you poor PC users anyway )

Clicking "Start" to shut down.
Having wizards to guide you through stuff that should be easy anyway.

Oh and lengthy installers that put files all over your system where you don't want them to be
