Root canal with innefective anaesthesia
Had one of these today and despite eye watering pain that made me shrink from the dentists drill it wasn't as bad as people make out. Ponces.
Next time I'll get them to do it without pain relief and see who the ***** is then.

Nerve wasn't dead, I can only liken the pain as similar to the time I broke my leg on piste. Except it was in my head and seemingly directly connected to my brain.
Like a bright white light suffusing everything with a desperate need to avoid the source of agony. I only hope my involuntary screams pissed off the people in the waiting room.
Was a choice, wait for the other anaesthetic they gave me to kick in while I waited in agony or continue. I opted for the get it over with option, made even more fun by the fact I can barely ablo Espagnol.

I had a filling pop out and expose a nerve just a couple of weeks ago - I resorted to sipping ice water to numb the nerve while I waited for my emergency dental appointment... I can only think that I have a MUCH lower pain threshold than you mate!
I had to stop sipping while the dentist looked at the problem and then apply the anaesthetic... those seconds were like a lifetime of pain... and then when the numbness kicked in.... ahhhhhh......

They did apply the anaesthesia. It's just that it didn't work. Imagine someone sticking live wires @240V into your brain is how I'd describe the pain.
The dentist said that he was surprised the people in the waiting room stuck around considering the noise I made when he stuck the root cleaning tool down my tooth.

My ex dentist broke the file inside my root and decided not to tell me. My how I laughed when 5 years later the decay underneath had gotten so bad it had eaten a good portion of my jaw. I had another chuckle when I had to pay an Endodontist a good sized fortune to excavate the offending file. Then nearly wet myself going back to a dentist for an expensive crown. Ha, ha, ha, still laughing now!!
