Local Knowledge - Liverpool please ??
Hi
I'm taking the family to see the Tsunami Benefit match at Anfield on Sunday. Has anyone got any advice as to where it's safe (or not) to leave the Scoob and how to get from there to Anfield. I've got some relatives in Clubmoor (quite close) but my mother's Clio got vanadalised there a few years ago, so I'm a bit reluctant to leave it there for too long.
Any (sensible) advice much appreciated.
Cheers

Couple of years ago parked in an official car park just down from the ground, opposite a large pub on the corner of a T junction, think it was called the Arkles (sp !!) or something !!!
You should have a permit to park but bribed the bloke (£5)

Thanks for all the advice so far - looks like the train may be the way to do it - any ideas as to which nearby (ish) station is likely to be safe - we're staying in Congleton and at the moment Chester/Ellesmere port are looking like possible candidates.

The Arkles is also a nice pub to go into for a beer before the game
If you do go by train Liverpool Lime Street isn't that far away, can easily get to anfield by taxi or bus.

Liverpool's not that bad, although I've never parked my car in Anfield. The multi-story car parks in the city centre are fine, I always park in the multi-story on Old Haymarket, just round the corner from the museum/Line St., it's as secure as you'll get with barriers, cameras and security guards! It wouldn't be much to get a taxi from there to Anfield. I'd actually feel more confident leaving my car there than in Chester or along any of the Wirral line train stations!

I'd take the car, and park in the main car park in Stanley Park. Loads of REALLY nice car in there, and they never get touch! Been to see the MIGHTY BLUES loadsa times, with no problems! There's Police everywhere

Unless you can leave your car in someones garage then I would either take the train or use a hire car for the day.

As you turn up Walton Breck Road by Notre Dame School, there is a car park in the school playgrounds/field about 75-100 yards on RHS. Park there, is perfectly safe and is patrolled all the time. Costs about £4.00. Also you never get blocked in either. All you have to do then, is walk up Walton Breck Road to the ground.
