Aptitude/phchometeric tests..
Ok, I need to do one of these tests for a job, and I NEED this job..
Anyway they asked me to go and do the test and they give you a website on the net with test examples, HOWEVER these tests have had my mind in knots, they're bloody hard ..
Anyone know what the likely pass score will be?..

I doubt there's a specific pass mark - they'll probably look harder at how you do compared to other applicants for the job. Such tests have to be hard in order to differentiate between smart people, if two or more people both get everything right, the test has told them nothing.
What sort of job is it?

You need to understand the point of these tests so I suggest a bit of googling to find out the purpose behind them.
Can be hard to "cheat" on cos I think there are "check" questions built in.
Basically, I think to determine what type of "personality" you are.
Some people swear by them, others at them.
Btw, psychometric.

I've done quite a few of these in my time. The best way is to attempt every question, you are likely to get a better score that way. The last one I did was for the forces, and it was quite complex especially in the mathematics dept. Something which I was never any good at anyway. But I attempted every question, and actually came out with quite a good mark

there is a pass / fail criteria, however it is based on a number of other factors,
time being one, and the type of job another.
if its an office job, it will be to see if you can handle data efficiently and not loose track whilst doing other things...
i had one once where we had to put little pegs into holes with a pair of tweezers... fairly simple.... what caught people out was the interviewer talked to you through the whole process, ..
as the others have said... be yourself.... you can get dole for 6 months i believe!!
seriously just do as you are asked,, you cant beat the system
