Absolutely FPMSL at the 'Drinks order' sketch. Utter class and Mr Barker at his best.
Compare these to Little Britain or LOG, and they just take the p1ss out of the modern stuff, must be me, but I can't get on with the current cr@p of so called comedy programmes.
Only problem was I couln't help thinking that this series was going to be the last time any of us would EVER see them together though, which put a bit of a downer on the occasion.

Ronnie Corbett doesnt look any different really, Ronnie Barker looks old but then he is, nice that they are both able to still work, Ronnie Barker retired years ago and went into antiques, can you imagine buying something from him, it could take hours !
Some of there stuff is from a different time and way of thinking and as such wount get aired again due to its content, I remember one sketch where Ronnie Barker blacked up in drag and sung something along the lines of
'Im a big black Mamma and im blacker than a black eyed pea'
Which nowadays would not go down at all well, its a shame as its part of our heritage but there is no way that will get shown again, that does not make them evil racists, its just that times have changed and stuff like that is not acceptable any more, so I suspect that there may be a few like that so we wont see any of their programmes in their entirety, just the clips as they did last night, probably why you never see any vintage Jim Davidson routines.

Its a good test of real comic ability to be able to make you laugh without the use of bad language or "lavatory" humour.
I'm ready to bet that black people would find the Black Momma sketch just as entertaining as anyone else.

Yes but would you take the risk of airing it and incurring the wrath that would ineviatably follow ?, I do think sometimes the race and equality issues and the way they are apprached is actually more demeaning to minorities than whatever is the current offending issue is, i.e. more attention is drawn to the fact there are some slight genetic differences and bigger cultural ones by the fact that the pc brigade start whining about something that nobody else had mentioned or noticed.
I do beleive that the Big Black Momma sketch might just be on the wrong side of whats acceptable though.

Funny in its day and quite funny now.
Just the BBC ripping us off again, making almost free tv. Not listed as repeats because they dig up the old stars, pay them a few quid and jumble up a few ancient clips.

Maybe I was tired. Maybe I wasn't in the right frame of mind, but having seen all those sketches first time out, I got bored. Switched off. Something rather tedious about them. Could it also be to do with the quickfire stuff we are fed these days? I was so sad with myself at having that attitude , I'd really looked forward to the programme. Strange.

Yes thats a good point you made J4CKO, I reckon that all the PC rubbish is demeaning and probably largely unwelcome anyway.
I cant say about the Black Momma sketch, we need some black people to say what they really think themselves.
