Cool Mountain-biking in Scotland this weekend?

Guys & gals, if anyone fancies meeting up for the much-awaited (but never-organised ) Scoobynet MTB meet, then head over to Glentress on Saturday. We'll be meeting up at about midday (ChrisB and me, anyway).

Alternatively, we'll be heading over to ride Traquair XC on Sunday morning (probably about 10am, but it depends how much beer is drunk on Saturday night ).

Well, had an absolutely superb weekend of riding. Weather was fantastic.

Good to finally be back out on the bike, even if I'm aching a little from the after-effects.

Think I'll pass on that. I don't think I could handle the endless boasting.

Eh? Of course you'll pass on it - you've already missed it!

WTF you on about anyway? Boasting about what? Only boasting I could manage this weekend is claiming the 'most spectacular crash' award.

Cool. didnt realise there was an MTB group. I live in Dumfries so if you are ever riding at Mabie or Dalbeattie let us know. 4 month old twins have dented the amount of riding at the mo but i am sure i can get a pass.

Oh, there's loads of us MTBers on SN....

TBH, I don't tend to ride Mabie/Dalbeattie very often, mainly 'cos:

1. I found Dalbeattie very boring - most of it is fire-roads, and the slabs aren't my cup-of-tea (yes, I'm a wuss when it comes to falling off on big lumps of granite ). Mabie was better though (one particular decent is excellent).

2. It's a 1-hour drive from here.

3. Glentress is 5 miles from my house, and TraquairXC is 2 miles from my house.

But next time we do decide to head down the Dumfries way I'll try and remember to PM you.

Aren't there any southern mountain bikers? Scotland is way too far from me, especially without a car.

Yeah, there's a few. They usually post threads discussing how they have nowhere decent to ride.

Can't you ride up here?

Had an awesome ride at afan in south wales too. Sunny, hot (yes, hot), dry trails, perfect!

Did the wall, and then penhydd.

Probably do the quantocks again this coming weekend.
