Wink Whats the proper size of a rubix cube???

Is an original rubix cube suppose to have 9 squares (3x3) or 16 (4x4) on each face of the cube?
Just wondering cause I've bought a 4x4 "original 1980's" cube from ebay, but now not sure if its a proper one. Doh!

The original was 3x3 on a face, although they did produce a 4x4 later on.

The origianl was 3x3 - easy to take apart and easy to put back together again with all the colours in the right place

Well Rubix did make a 4x4, but there were also a gazillion copies out there, although the 3x3 was more often copied. Assuming the box looks "pukka" etc, you are probably OK.

think they also made a few different sizes. at least two anyway - the most common one probably about 100-120mm wide and the keyring size (unless the keyring one was one of the millions of copies...?)

LOL Alright Gary?

I found that if you did it enough then "greasing" was never needed
