Question Life lacking something, what adventure would you go on?

If you felt that you had let day to day living dictate what you do and don't do with your time. What would you do for a bit of an adventure. Where in the World would you go and what would you do that would give you an unusal experiance and really make you feel that you had achieved something and was not just exisiting? I'm not talking about a money no object expediation for 6 months but something you could achieve with minimal amounts of cash?

I'm in my thirtys. Also maybe I should say I am not that fit. Hardest workout I get is lifting a pint glass!

I'd do the diceman thing. Speak to 6 people for suggestions of what to do tomorrow, roll a dice, and do whichever one you end up rolling. Who knows where you'll end up - you don't even have the stress of deciding what to do

Either that or go scuba diving in thailand or somewhere else cheap for a few months...

Ok I have picked a number from one to six. Now if people can come up with some more suggestions I will within 3 months do the suggestion that tallys with my chosen number. Nothing daft or expensive like going into space or trekking to the North pole...

1. Get on the motorbike, fill her up and ride east for exactly 24 hrs. Get the the tent out, sleep for a few hours, get up, get on the nearest bus and take it from there.

3. Travel to a country that you'd probably never go to and sample their culture. Off the top of my head I suggest Argentina

6. Drive from coast to coast across the USA.

Did it late 2003, loved it. Set off with next to no plan, and it had the feel of a real adventure.

Oh ****! you can forget Skydiving. Looks like I will be learning to fly! Just have to see how much it will cost. Don't think I will be a Pilot that fast though. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Well I have had a look on Google and I can get flying for not much money, but I think it is time for me to slim down a bit as I am too fat to fly! PMSL
How embarrassing is that!

I do have three months to lose some weight though! LOL

Excellent choice. I'm learning to fly a Paramotor at the moment, it's one of the least expensive forms of aviation, you don't need a licence or insurance and the full set up will cost you around £5,000. Although you don't need training I'd sugges a visit to www.paramotorschool.com in France, it's a bit like boot camp but might save your life.

I have started my training to become a Special Constable.

The first weekend was excellent.

I will learn about people, communications, self defence and I will see things nobody else will see.

I hope it will be a life changing experience for me and give me some exposure to the real world!

I was in a similar situation a couple of years ago - I just felt I did nothing, and I was stuck in a rut - same old ****, different day.

I joined my local Round Table www.roundtable.co.uk as several members on scoobynet had posted on all the different things they had done whilst a Table member.

In the last 18 months i've done things i would NEVER have done, all with a group of blokes who I now consider good friends, who all like to have a good time and drink beer!

Gliding, pony trekking, banger racing, rock climbing, archery shooting, clay pigeon shooting, canoeing, drinking, whisky tasting (ugly!), brewery visits (ugly!), grass boarding, international weekends away (in bruges & belgium next weekend!), plenty of Black Tie ***** if you want to go, played snooker tournys, darts, crown green bowls(!), drinking, did I mention drinking?.....poker evenings, treasure hunts, quad biking (cool!) etc etc plus loads others I was too pissed to remember probably!

All in all, loads of things I would not have done, had a great time doing them, and got a load of mates out of it as well...........

p.s we raised a ****load of cash for charity too.....

If you find a good local Table you will have a blast, and its all geared for blokes aged 18 - 45 - perfect scoobynet profile.

My mates do something different every year - 3 years ago they done the Plymouth to Dakar in a sub £100 car (currently being shown on Men & Motors TV), the year after they rode Honda C90's to Italy to deliver pizza, and last year they took Robin Reliants on a 4000mile trip to Russia via the Artic Circle... This year they're 'chopping' Honda C90's and riding to Portugal for a 4 day rock concert on the beach. Everything is done in 2 weeks and on a minimal budget with little (no) organisation!... anyone can have a go - they've had over 600 enquiries for the next trip.... It's all on their website www.extremetrifle.com

I'm flying a helicopter for the first time a week on Sunday.

Its only half an hour and cost me £125, but it was a charity auction so not that bothered.

The normal cost is £115 - looking forward to it now
