No sound from new telly?
Hi
OK, we've got a new telly, plugged it and have done the auto set-up guff! We can get an acceptable picture, not fussed about that cos the nice man from Sky is coming on Sunday! What's more of a concern atm is not having any sound...I say no sound, we can actually get a really annoying whistling sort of noise!
We've got the video connected and we can get sound through that when playing a tape. I've tried plugging the aerial directly into the TV, rather than through the video, no joy
We've also tried the old TV (10 years old at least!) and that works fine!
Your thoughts please?

Most reputable TV manufacturers now have customer service departments, with a resident expert on standby. You can ring them, descibe the fault and they guide you through it's diagnosis.
Most "faults" are down to the menu system being incomprehensible to all but the nerds out there
