10 Years Ago today ............
"A bill which would ban hunting with hounds in England and Wales has become the first such proposal to get a second reading in parliament.
The private member's bill, introduced by Labour MP John McFall, would outlaw fox and stag-hunting and hare-coursing.
There was cheering in the House of Commons chamber and the public gallery as it was passed by 253 votes to nil after its first reading"
253 to NIL!!!
And STILL the Hooray Henrys compalin!! Arrest them ALL and give them to Big Billy in the Prison showers, mind you, if they are Tories they might just enjoy that tooooo much!!
So, under a TORY Government a Labour MP FORCED a vote on the banning of the torture of wild animals ............................... must have made them cringe!
Pete

He only cheated us because he had it done immediately! If he'd stuck to his socialist beliefs he'd have waited 18 months like every other hapless punter at the gates of the NHS.

2) Labour bulldozed the Bill through using the Parliament act as they couldnt get it through in a democratic way.
3) Are farmhands and the rural community really Hooray henrys then?
4) Yes there was a vote undere the Tory government. Its called democracy Peter.
And just admit the real reason they wanted it banned was they thought it was only the well off that went hunting. Well they have been proven wrong havent they.

They always stick to the same old inverted snobbery Chip, even if you show it to be totally misplaced, its the only argument they have got, so in tyipical NL manner they just keep saying it in case someone might believe it!

All he needs to do is get all the Labour MP's to toe the line and they can ban anything they like! It bears no relevence to public support.

All you can say is that half of the people who were actually questioned for that particular poll were against it. Makes me laugh when I see people stating these figures as fact when in fact they are highly subjective (and that's from both side of the arguement).
The only way you can get the true picture of how the country as a whole feels would be to have a referendum on the subject, with a mandatory voting policy.

To answer your question I took the anti's claims and the pro's claims and cut it down the middle, added some salt, shook, stirred and and said "half", that way I can't be accused of being biased!

Fishing could well be next in line as could motorsport, off road sport, and home mechanics (such as restorations or maintenence of your car).
Don't say you weren't warned, and don't come bleeting on here when your your interests and freedoms are banned.
