The end of the road for BMW's ?

The interesting bit which if adopted by other car makers could spell trouble for some:
"Lane Departure Prevention" combines a camera and computerized devices
that control braking for front and rear wheels, nudging the car in the
right direction. The feature disengages when you hit the turn signal, so
you can change lanes and make turns.
I can see it now - all the BMW drivers stuck in Lane 3 going round and round the M25 for days, unable to change lanes because you have to indicate to disengage the system...
