I'm coming over to the UK for about 4 weeks or so in April (no, not to go to Charles' wedding ) and was wondering if anyone has any ideas about getting mobile for the visit.

I'm not looking for a luxury vehicle, just a set of wheels - even thought about buying at auction and selling when I leave, but that's quite a lot of messing about.

Any ideas? - I'll be down in East Sussex for most of the stay

Phil, Ticehurst Motors will do you a Ka or Metro for (ISTR) £30 per day all in, and cheaper than that if for a long period (say, over a week or two).

Must admit it's a bit of a long shot asking for advice on car hire on a computer forum where everyone owns at least one car !

There are the big names, like Avis and Hertz obviously, but before I found the joys of car ownership, I used to use www.easycar.com

If you get your dates and pick up times right, it can work out really cheap, sometimes if you take it back well out of peak hours they give you the day free..... well, they used to......

Not bad cars, either.
