Just been doing a bit of searching on uswitch.com and was suprised to find out I'd be better off on a standard rate than I am on Economy 7.

I'm starting to think that Economy 7 is a bit of con - most people think they're getting cheap electric through night so set washing machines to go at say 1am - when in reality, the suppliers set your cheap rate to be 10pm - midnight and from 2am-7am - so getting your 7 hours cheap but your washing machine is costing you more than you think it is.

Are there any rate-tarts out there? I'm on a bit of a monthly-outgoings-reduction crusade and could do with some tips...
