Am I likely to find an improvement in fuel economy (normal driving) from an MY93 WRX to a V5 Type R. I know theres a jump in BHP but as a rule do the newer models run better economy??

Cheers

I don't have a wrx but a my 99 wagon....there was a recent thread on mpg with people returning wildly different figures depending on type of use etc...but yes, apparently my99 cars are meant to give approx 2 mpg more per gallon than models up to my98....I get about 26 pottering back and fore to work and general running around .Up to 34-35 on long motorway runs...under 24 when giving the car some stick...not sure how much under 24 ......Hope this helps.
