Default SKY in the bedroom, or should I say WAS...

We have SKY downstairs and upstairs, now the upstairs one wont change channel.

We have a mouse looking thing that you point the remote at, it plugs in piggyback stylee to the aerial. This used to have a little red light on it, now it hasnt.

Is it fooked ? What is it called ? Does it have a battery ? Where to buy another? How much ?

The downstairs one changes fine.

Should SKY give me another free....?

Thanks in advance.

Hurry up its doing my head in.

Later BRAINS.

The mouse gets a 12 v supply from the sky box through the coaxial cable. Check that both ends are and plugs are tight on the cable and correctly connected.
Also check in the sky box user settings that the 12Volts is switched on for the second output socket.

How does a coaxial connector work.

The hairy copper bits dont touch nothing...........do they ?

The middle copper wire goes into the pin, thingie.

A fcukin simple job turns into a nightmare........

I only pulled it out of the TV to get the magic eye off, and the feckin end stayed in the tele.......FFS.

Whats that site called..........were they explain how thing work ?

HELP...

Thanks MT.

PG... Yes it went off during the Everton game, so we phoned up SKY who gave my GF instructions as to what to do.

She did turn it on and off, along with a few other things, I shall ask when she gets in.

I hope she has fcuked it up, another excuse for a fight..

Ive just followed MT link, and the picture is back...fine, now the stupid question.

If the hairy bits do **** all, what are they there for ?...Show...Grrr

Nearly as bizarre as me running up and down the stairs, remote in hand, in me boxies, to turn the feckin channel over.

I used to pi55 myself laughin at my Dads video remote...it was on a lead to the actual unit........but at least it feckin worked.

I wondered that! On that link I gave you it says the middle core of wire carries the signal and the hairy sharp bits shield the inner wire/signal from electromagnetic interference . . . learn something new every day!
