Has fuel duty been increased on Diesel?...
Have the government sneaked in a fuel duty increase on diesel?? It tends to be at least 5p/litre more for diesel now compared to unleaded?
I know previous fuel tax rises have hit diesel a bit harder than unleaded, but it seems the difference in price between diesel and unleaded has widened in the last year or so?
Any know why its so much more?

Diesel is only 2p per litrer more expensive, tax wise, the current difference is a result of the supermarkets little pre/post christmas price war on unleaded petrol. They excluded diesel from the price war, and the gap has remained reasonably constant since then. But I have noticed it returning to the normal 2p difference round may way over the last week or so, as the petrol price has been creeping up again.

Isn't derv meant to be more expensive at this time of year due to extra demand for heating oil etc? That said, I've never noticed the price slide during the summer...
