Jump Started with reverse polarity!!!
**** at airport carpark tried to jump start my mates car but connected the +ve of his jump pack to the -ve car battery terminal.
This blew the 110A alternator fuse, fried the alternator and killed the battery.
Car park deny liability, even in the face of the AA man.
It must be possible for a electrical specialist to confirm the failure mode & show the car park did the damage (VW Golf).
Anybody know any place that can help out with an engineers report......? Small claims court looming.....!
Cheers,
Matt.

They had parked his car and obviously left the lights on.
When it as due for collection, they must have realised that the battery was flat and tried to jump it.
Cant name & shame just yet..........

Shoving reverse polarity up something will damage things in obvious ways to a car electrical specialist. Someone like Lucas engineering would be my bet.
No matter how they try to wiggle, they have been negligent in their duties IMHO and will be paying for the repair. I'd speak to a good, locally recommended "no win no fee" type of arrangement (reputable mind) and get the wheels in motion so to speak.

Problem is they've probably wrapped themselves in the small print on their contract - I'd start by checking that and then finding yourself a decent solicitor.....Good luck!
