Russian is a VERY difficult language (mainly because of the grammar) I am studying it at evening classes. You could use www.Translate.ru and put your English words/phrase in and let it translate. Problem then is pronunciation if you do not know cyrillic alphabet. Once you do, at least the letters of the alphabet are phonetic! Get a Berlitz phrase book and all basics are covered including the specific pronunciations.
Off to Moscow in 10 days for the 3rd time in the last 8 weeks and aout 10th time in all. Fascinating place (and the women are considerably more beautiful on average than anywhere else)!!!

Mostly as they look (as they have been laid out in an English format)
Unstressed O sounds like Uh
Therefore Beer is sounded as PivA (almost)
Privet (Priivyet) but is too "familiar until you know them well)
Polite version of hello is Zdraztyutay.
Polite version of goodbye is Das Vadanya.
Privet = hello
poka = goodbye
spokoinoi nochi = goodnight
pivo = beer
horosho = good
spasibo = thanks
da = yes
net = no

ALSO, you need to change the grammar as you used the infinitive of "to want" instead of "I want" which is Я хочу (Ya Hachoo). However, they would still get the drift!

If you want to say hello politely, say zdrastvuytye, with the stress on the first syllable - ZDRASTvi-ti. To be more informal, you can probably get away with saying zdrastvi. If you want to just say hi, its privyet - PRIVyet.
Goodbye is das vydania (actually do svidanya, until we meet), but their version of our "cheers" or "see ya" is pa-ka.
When you shake hands for the first time and introduce yourself, you can say "ochen pryatna", pleased to meet you (literally "very pleased").
Kak vas sov-oot is What is your name? And the answer is mneer sov-oot X.
I learned Russian at evening classes since 1993, and lived and worked for 2 years in Moscow and a couple of months in St Petersburg. I got quite good conversationally, but didn't quite get to business level. I've lost a lot now, but in fact the biggest minority of immigrants into Portugal last year was Ukrainians, and my wife meets a lot, so I still get a bit of practice every now and then.
