Angry Allergic reaction to Bold washing powder or anti-biotics?

Has anyone else recentley had an allergic reaction when they have been using Bold 2in1 powder fine before?
I have come out with a red blotchy rash and am just trying to rule this out. I phoned the freephone helpline on the box and they told me that the concentration 'may of changed' recentley. This sounds like an admission of guilt to me. They are sending me some free vouchers for fairy non bio to try and see if that cures it. I know that Persil bio causes me grief and so don't use it. I am not sure if it is the powder as I have been using it fine for years. However I am allergic to penecillion and have instead been prescribed some Erythromycin for an infection I have. The skin symptoms began before i started the dosh of anti-biotics though. Maybe the anti-biotics has exasperated the situation. I am itching like **** now and it is driving me crazy. Any advice? I'm thinking of stopping the anti-biotics and stripping naked and getting into a bath of cold water as it is driving me totally fecking nuts. I am in agony feels like a million ants crawling all over me

Look on the bright side... at least if the rash is itching then it isn't likely to be meningitis or septicaemia!

Just spoke to my Doctor and he has said stop the anti-biotics. Hopefully this will stop me from itching so much. I wanted to go to Boxhill on Sat. Can't go now as I look like a giant fecking strawberry!

Did he recommend to take some antihistamine?

Yes, but I don't feel like going out and getting some as someone may mistake me for a fecking beetroot and use me in a Salad! Should change me name to Redone LOL

Antihistamines should ease the itching, something non-drowsy like loratadine (eg: Claritin) or Cetirizine Hydrochloride (eg: Zyrtec). If you're itching badly at night and can't get to sleep use a drowsy anti-histamine such as chlorphenamine (Piriton's drowsy one!). You can also use Lanacane cream/talc (this is very cooling) on the itching areas. Make sure you're not allergic to any of these as well! I'm not a doctor but what I've just been through has turned me into an expert on itching.

Hello

I have slowly become allergic to all kinds of anti-biotics. I get swelling and itchy feet, then hands and slowly it creeps over the rest of my body. Not fun.

If it's really bad, go and take a Zirtec (or equivalent) as it will immediately calm the reaction. Then go and try (yet another) anti-biotic.

There we go Zyrtec recommended by two people simultaneously, although it appears I can't spell!

My sympathies blueone, but with advice like this (and a poor prescription choice up front) is there any wonder bacteria are becomming immune to anti-biotics.

LOL! It was me who got the spelling wrong, just thinking about it was making me itch and hit the wrong key.

Yes. I can use neither Bold nor Ariel in my washing machine as both bring me out in a very itchy rash. Fairy is OK however.

I used to have bad excema until I changed my washing powder.
Now I use the non perfumed "Pure" or similar and everything is fine.
Rashes skin conditions etc can be directly linked to things like this and diet, its all about finding the trigger by sacrificing one thing at a time.
