Life Sucks
My next door neighbour's 8 mth old son is getting buried tomorrow, how much grief must his parents be going through,it is unimaginable. My better half(who is 4 mths pregnant) is pals with the mother and has been in a hell of a state the last few days .
The wee guy arrived back for his last night at home earlier tonight, unfortunately i happened to see his tiny wee coffin come out the hearse, saddest thing i have ever seen.
Really puts things in to perspective....sorry for the content of this post .....

When you see all the scumbags who are still on the planet, it does seem so bloody unfair and makes you question sometimes what you actually believe in...No parent should ever have to bury their children.
My condolences to the family.

I'm going through a bit of a crap time at the moment (or thought I was) but seeing this post puts my so called problems back into perspective, it must be heart breaking for the family and my thoughts are with them today.

You mustn't apologise for a thread like this.
We all go about our lives sometimes oblivious to the sadness that can happen , and in some cases like this, right next door.
Every so often we should all take a few minutes to consider the sadder side of life which includes a death like this.
When I visit my dad's grave, I have to walk past two babies' graves. It certainly puts a lot of stuff into perspective.
I'd watch out for your wife over the next few months, she's going to be particularily touched by events. Its a slightly tricky situation bringing a new one into this world when one close by has left us. A lot of feelings to consider there.
All the best to all concerned, and our thoughts are with the deceased's family.

You're right - life does suck - and that's why I'm always banging on about people's right to believe in whatever the hell they want to help get them through it all.
I agree - don't apologise for the post - this place needs a bit of perspective - heartfelt sympathies to the family and friends.

Surely the thread title should be "Death Sucks". My Sister had a baby that died after 3 days fighting for his life. This more than anything I have experienced taught me how important life is and how short it really can be.
Life is fantastic - but we should all remember how insignificant our "problems" really are .
And trying to find reasons and wondering why everything is so unfair will get you nowhere fast !

Condolences to the family. Very tragic situation.
A very good friend of mine lost their baby at 36 weeks in utero. She had to go through 3 days of induced labour to deliver him. The coffin was the size of a shoebox.

Some nice sentiments guys .....never seen so many tears shed at a funeral ,including mine( i'm generally a hard faced b*stard ). To see a Dad carry his Sons coffin to the Grave is a memory that will live with me for ever.
The Baby had heart and lung problems, but appeared to be defying the medics grim outlook.....then suddenly within a few hours his wee heart gave up...he died, sedated ,in his mums arms which all things considered is not a bad way to go .
Sure the Wee Mans at peace now ... I'll leave it at that.

It's a big reality check So much time and effort expanded over essentially meaningless stuff is put into perspective when you're reminded of the pain others can and do go through every day

puts me in mind of an incident reported locally over the past couple of days; on a back country road a 5 year old and a 7 year old were killed by a car coming in the opposite direction.
It then turns out the kids were on a farmbike on the wrong side of the road on a blind corner.
It's then reported that the car driver is the kids' father.
Life does suck; as well as the death of the kids, imagine what the father has to live for the rest of his life.
