Thumbs up London 2012 Video

Any doubters - watch this without feeling that the games should come to London:

I can see it now.......
"ladies and gentlemen- due to signal problems on the northern line, the mens 100m final has been cancelled. Please find alternative entertainment. We apologise for any inconvenience caused"

The london in that video looks nice- shame its a load of horse **** and nothing like the reality. I agree tho- the video is nicely done.

new yorks bid is particuarly impressive, as are others- personally i hope london doesnt get it and give bliar yet another excuse to waste £billions that could be better spent.
It will get bombed anyway if they get it- thats pretty much certain.

Showing it to people will do absolutely no good whatsoever- its not up to the people is it- its all down to the selection panel, and how popular it is isnt a factor in that.

I'm sure our past Follies will impress them... Millenium Dome what a success that was, Wembley Stadium - Money pit, currupt people lining their own pockets....

I hope we don't get it either. Will be a complete waste of money.....rather like the Dome

That's no entirely true - one of the criteria that the selection panel will judge is whether the native population supports their own country's bid. I guess they want to be sure that athletes, officials, etc will receive a warm welcome were the games to come to Britain.

It's been good to see the bid team communicating the national benefits of the bid - especially w.r.t acclimitisation camps etc that all of the visiting teams will require.
What did get my goat was interviewees in Manchester this morning, moaning "why does London always get these things?" FFS - Manchester bid (unsuccessfully) for the 1996 and 2000 Olympics, and has since hosted the Commonwealth Games!
