Time to get tooled up!
the new government leaflet says that it is ok to use leathal force against burgulars in your own home.
at last something i agree with!

lol, I was thinking about this on the way home. It'll be something like the situation which North American hunters found themselves in a few years back.
Legislation was introduced to reduce the amount of wildlife killed by the hunters which stated
"No animal can be killed unless its poses a direct threat to human life"
So now when they see something they want to take a pop at they just shout
"OMG! ITS COMING STRAIGHT FOR US!!!" then blast it regardless of what it was actually doing!
I can see the court case now.
Prosecution "Mr. Boy, you found my client in your living room did you not?"
me "Yes, thats correct"
prosecution "He was stealing your PS2 and urinating on the carpet was he not?"
me "Yes he was sir"
Prosecution "So in your efforts to apprehend him, you claim you acted on instinct, is that correct?"
me "Thats correct, I acted on insinct"
prosecution "Mr. Boy, whilst I dont deny that hitting my client on the back of the head with a frying pan, may have been instinctive, I am wondering how much instinct was required to hit him a further 83 times before than handle broke off said frying pan"
Me "errr...."
Prosecution "Also, I am wondering how "instinctive" ringing up 12 of your associates up to come round and "Finish him off" because you were "Too bloody knackered from smashing his head in with the frying pan" was.

Don't use a six cell maglite they are too cumbersome and take too long to swing,a 3 or 4 cell is better, much quicker to swing...,use it 'overhand' like the american cops do so that if someone appears out of nowhere you don't need to lift and swing just one smooth swift hard INSTINCTIVE swing down into the fragile brittle skull of the walking punchbag A Maglite nightstick errr, torch!! *cough* is not a weopan ,and no court would convict on this basis ,after all you just needed to see what was going on and picked up the torch that you keep next to the bed ....(obviously if you beat them to a bloody pulp whilst unconscious this may not hold true 
)
Chain up your wheelie bins as they are a handy ladder/stepping stone for scumbag maglite fodder to use ,if you want to know if you have a week spot in your home security imagine you have lost your keys and had to break back in....then think how you'd do it if you didn't mind causing £100's worth of damage to your house.
Any more tips anyone?

Heavy mains cable is a good choice.
