Best cure for sore throat?
Had a bloody sore throat all weekend. Obviously no chance to get to the quacks as its closed. Anyone got any suggestions other than Lockets for some pain relief?

Seriously, gargle with whiskey, does it for me, and then swallow!
If you still have it tomorrow, buy one of those sprays, if it's still there by Weds, a visit to quack is on the cards.

On a serious note, what you need to do is flood your body with antioxidants which will fight off the virus that has caused your sore throat.
The most singularly potent antioxidants are either garlic or onions. You can guarantee that you'll have dragon breath for a while, but eating lots of either of these for a day or two is the best thing you can do to actually actively 'fight' a cold.

Certainly takes your mind off your sore throat.....
Only trouble is, it's replaced with a sore rusty sherriffs star instead.

Guaranteed to work - TCP
Best attempted before you go to bed, unless you want to knock out your work colleagues when talking to them...
Poor a cap of TCP into a cup and add 9 parts water. Gurgle and spit. Repeat. Finish off with drawing a little into your mouth and swallow. Job done.
Yes, TCP tastes vile I know but this works! You may go to bed with a numb thung(!) but you'll wake up with a sorted throat. If it's a really bad one then you may need to repeat the session but this method is guaranteed to work, unlike sweeties that rob your wallet.
Jonts.
