How many points for 83 in a 60?

Should be 3 points and £60. I was NIP'd 18 months ago for 89 in a 60 and that had to go to court. I got 5 points and £250. I think that 83 is still within the normal fine and point boundaries.

Seriously though sorry to hear about it, are they offering you a fixed penlty or do you have to go to court? Fixed would be three points + £60 fine, if it goes to court you may be very lucky and get only three but I'd expect the worst i.e. six points.

I've just got one in today, 56 in a 40. (Local Motorway with roadworks, not a built up area). I take it I can expect the same sort of thing? 3 points and £60 fine?

You swine Mitchy. I got caught doing 97 on the M1, waiting my NIP and did not get a fixed fine so it could be more (being asain and driving a sporty car-ish
