Default Tom Tom permenantly plugged in?

I have a Pocket PC with TomTom 2 which plugs into the cigarette lighter.

Is it Ok to leave it plugged in overnight (i.e. to keep it powered up) or will it drain the battery?

Reason for asking is it has been a little tempramental of late and I need it to work in the morning so ideally I could do with leaving it in.

Cheers
