Every new year its the same, people decide "I'm going to the gym" and hog the machines while the rest of us that go all year round have to mill about waiting for them to finish. 5 mins on a bike won't even get your heart rate up so please, don't bother!!
Think of the sofa, think of whats on the TV. Please stay at home!

Just go along at 6am like wot I do - even the mosr resolute of 'new resolutions' doesn't get out of bed until 8 ..... :-)

PS: I just find it funny all those 5 minute wonders ....
PPS: what is even funnier are the people that go to the gym day after day ALL year and are still fat bar stewards ....

I am waiting till next week before i go back, as i know that most of them will have tailed off by now

Im a member at David Lloyds in Kirbyla, have been for four years and this is the first Jan where its no busier than normal - hurrah - Im presuming its because cheaper gyms are popping up all over the place and people want to save a few pennies...
Suits me fine - last night at 6pm half the CV machines were free and I was the only person in the Sauna and one of only 3 in the steam room... Hurrah
But in the past its been the nightmare that SJ is on about!!!

STI-04, same gym as me mate...pretty sure i've seen your car there a good few times, just never knew it was you!
I've heard the Glasgow Fort is the new 'place to be' as far as gyms are concerned (not sure of the location right enough )

Only problem with my Gym this week is the Schools are still off so those with family membership bring the kids to the pool. 
Not had too many new starters but the £200 joining fee tends to steer the "Just need to loose a stone" brigade elsewhere.
Never have any problems getting on any equipment.

Will keep an eye out for the Evo and P1 then, i'm usually there Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays at about 7pm (Black BMW 328is sport) although with new work shift patterns this may change to 10am soon
It's a good gym Ozzy, Plenty of facilities but i have tended to to notice that the standards are slipping slightly recently and the membership is meant to be going up soon as well
I do hope they use it well this time!

yeah know what ya mean beginning of the year and also whats class is just before summer. all the weights freak wannabes come in for a week or soo then start prancing around in vests etc, showing off there supposedly muscles. they too only last for about 2 weeks

Langy - I think i have seen your beemer, i only joined a few months back so still in that "heavyish" mode, & still on the resistance machines & the cardio stuff, will move up hopefully shortly when i will change my diet a bit more to suit, i am usually there bout 3 times @ nights & sat afternoon

can't get mad though as these ae the people keeping the place paid open, i mean they join up in jan and don't come back until the following jan but pay for all the new equipment in between
