Thumbs up I-robot

Just out on DVD and watched it on Sat and really suprised....what a cracking film - much better then I expected it to be. Awesome DTS soundtrack too (looked great on me 100" proj screen too! )

Didnt look great from the previews and promo clips, so wasnt expecting much

Also - anyone seen Incredibles yet - watched it a couple of weeks back - not quite up to expectations this one- still v good though.

I saw a dodgy copy of I-Robot, i was expecting a future cult classic but after watching it wasnt what id hyped it up to be. Still a unique film though.

Yep I enjoyed it, good film.

DTS soundtrack is good but should have been 6.1 Discreet.

Cheers

Yep, I liked it too

Will Smith is no De Niro, but he's got charisma - a bit like Clint Eastwood, I suppose, he's got 'screen presence' (hope that doesn't sound pretentious!)

Neil, what projector have you got?

As a matter of interest, what M&Ks have you got?

I've got the Sony VPL HS3 http://www.sony.co.uk/ShowProduct.do...roduct=VPL-HS3

Very quiet in operation with good performance, even if the room isnt completely dark. Love it!

Was my Xmas pressie from my Mrs, last year

I'm no expert on these matters by to my knowledge DTS is DTS and Dolby Digital has the reference 5.1 or 6.1 attached to it not DTS? Is'nt Digital Theatre Sound (DTS) a version of surround sound in its own right. I'm getting confused???

In general for DVD multi channel home Cimema has Dolby Dgital 5.1 which is your basic DVD surround format. Dolby Digital 5.1 EX has a seperate rear back channel that gets it's information from a stearing matrix in the real left and rear right channels. A bit like the front centre in pro-logic.

DTS has the normal 5.1, DTS ES Matrix works very similar to Dolby Digital 5.1EX and then DTS has DTS 6.1 Discreet which is a true 6.1 format.

There's also all the other steering matrix formats such as Pro-Logic, Pro-Logic11, Pro-Logic11x, DTS Neo6. etc etc.

Cheers
