Default ebay... something needs to be done...

its getting out of hand now, the amount of timewasters on there registering and biddin 80,000 on everything is beyond a joke, 2 items in the last week ive had done and coountless more beforehand

on the other items i deleted the bids intime

on each item i got approx 3 bids fro newly registered bidders who later ended up with -4 feedback no longer registered etc

its on a grand scale see for yourself

typlical ones are mobile phones and cars

just search for completed auctions look at the higher prices in general

within the last 10 mins ive counted 30 cars or so that have beeen victims of this idiotic childish people

i know some are scammers from abroad but most are people out for a laugh

trouble is theres no way to stop newly reg bidders or maybe people with less than 5 feedback etc have to be pre approved

ive lost maybe 20 quid this month or so on ebay in listing fees and been charged the final value fees ( £70 appox) which i will have to pay but eventually can claim them back

im rapidly loosing heart in ebays ways and security

If i could start a fookin petition and get everyone alongside i bloomin well would

RANT OVER
im going outsid for a smoke

You can chuck people off your auction with sh!te feedback if you want to, it's up to you as the seller to monitor it though.

I agree it's a pain in the ****. There should be something done about it. Maybe taking a deposit from them straight after the end of the bidding. Even if it's just enough to cover the vendor listing fee it would help. There's nothing worse than wasting money or being ripped off. What about if you were to buy something though and the vendor never sent you the item even after he had the money? Just thinking about it from that angle.

New registrations should do what www.nochex.co.uk do.

There verify your bank details by making a small deposit. You then tell them how much it was. No match, no account.

People (or rather idiots) are finding card details on the net (not difficult) and creating what ever accounts they want.

What do ebay care? The numbers are massive. They couldn't give a monkeys toss about a couple of ten thousand non paying bidders.

Apples24, are you limiting your sales to the UK only? I found when I started leaving things open to international bidders it caused similar problems.

Is this a recent thing?
Is it the same user?
Somebody you might've pissed off??

I'm still an e-bay newbie and to be honest it seems more aggro than it's worth. Stick to the free ad papers.

I think they should charge £100 deposit from all new bidders until they have good feedback to prove themselves

It hasn't happened to me yet but i have seen lots of 10k bids and-4 feedbacks

Apples, it was a joke mate. Light relief for all the **** flying round. If anything, watching you 2 arguing about it is quite amusing in a rubbernecking kind of way.
I'd still buy off you if the price/product was right and I'm sure other people will too.

the answer is soooooooooo simple....ebay should allow you to only except bids from ppl with 5 feedback or more.

not really.

they could allow it only when the seller has a rating of 30 or more or when the item is over a certain limit. or just charge an extra 30p to block people. there would still be plenty of sales for newbies.

Not really. A friend of mine has a rating of 20. 20 items that he purchased at 1pence each. Good rating = cost 20p....

I know ebay push paypal a lot and as it's free to set up and to pay via paypal then maybe it's not such a bad idea to make it a compulsory requirement to use ebay. All bidders must have sufficient funds in their account to pay for the re-listing if they don't cough up.

Positive feedback is easy to obtain, if you wish.

I've even seen people advertising positive feedback for sale

If you get a non paying bidder, you can claim the final value fee back.
You can also claim the original listing fee back if you relist it and its sells second time...... no money lost- but its a hassle.
Ive had to file 2 non paying bidder alerts this morning

there is a scam where you buy the "how to get good feedback book". you then stick this for sale and everyone else in the scam "buys" your produt on how to get good feedback.

you can get 100 feedback in a day or two for virtually no cost and very little effort.
