Help with graphically presenting data...
Ok, i have a key event that happens once a day. Since forever its happened between 17:45 and 17:59. I have a sample of two weeks worth of data to show this and every day is different but always between 17:45 and 17:59.
For the last two weeks though the event has started to be late and has varried from 17:57 to 18:19.
Whats the best method to show this change in a graph/chart/type thing?
Cheers!

A simple line graph I would imagine with days on the x-axis and time on the Y-axis. So long as you keep the Y-axis scale fairly tight, e.g. from 17:30 to 18:30 the trend will show up nice and clearly.

Have tried a bar chart, and didnt think it looked, well "right" for how i wanted it to look. The bar/line graphs show the change but maybe i'm guilty of wanting to over complecate things when i should just go with the most basic methods....Hhmmmm.

Have you tried using differnt charts when selecting "chart" on tools menu? In mine (office 04) you can select different chart types & see which one looks best. I am sure this option was added in/around MS 2000, or could even have been as early as 97

Histogram? Have the 'bins' set at intervals so that it shows two clear peaks corresponding to the two time periods.
