Default Dialling Australia- do you drop the '0' like when you dial UK from abroad?

I'm trying to get hold of a mate of mine on the Gold Coast-

tel number (internal) is 0755 251 76* (number replaced so you don't all ring him )

What do I dial from the UK?

You have to add 00 to dial out of the UK, and then add the country specific code (+61 for Australia) to the code to dial in. So prefix the number with 00 61.
