Got a letter from Camden council today telling me I've got to cough up £100 for driving in a bus lane (around mid-day) the other week. If I delay that's going up to £150.

Anyway, it gives a web address where you can see the pics to prove it and yes, I'd been driving up Tottenham Ct Rd in lane one and then it turns in to a bus lane. You can see that I'd been caught by the sudden bus lane and then within 5 car lengths had merged in to the non bus lane - correction, seen I couldn't merge in so booted it and then zipped in.

So, having been law abiding and tried to get out of that lane I'm being hit with a bill for £100. That's robbery. I never drive in these lanes and am usually the *** who's sitting in the correct lane while all the rest are zooming up the bus lane.

What's going on with this country?

Sorry to rant.

outrageous.. had you been deliberately driving in the bus lane then fair enough but surely some descresion is needed.. the digital era sometimes is not a good thing..

PS. It's not worth fighting, yes, I was there, but can be seen clearly getting off the lane.

Camden traffic ****'s , got to love 'em. We measured 1 car at 11 minutes between parking up in a traders parking space (not clearly signed), ticketed and towed away...

I know! Thing is, the traffic lights turned red so stopped, that was just as the bus lane started, therefore even more traffic piles up on the right making it even harder to merge (therefore full bore blast to get in the lane) which means that the operative sat there having loads of time to earn his bonus.

Scrub the last traffic light thing, think I was mistaken on that one possibly, but still £100, a speeding ticket is much less! Will spit on the cheque.

Last time i was nabbed in fulham (doing exactly the same as you) it was 40 squid! Arguing with the copper at the side of the road did nothing to sway their decision.
