Question re: returning faulty goods
Hi peeps.
Just a quick one really. The crappy Ipod I bought a few days ago (about a week) has gone t1ts up and wont even turn on now. I went through apple troubleshooting etc and it is dead as a dodo.
Now the thing is can I
a) demand my money back ? Better things to do with £205
b) Ask them to pay the postage as I aint getting stung for £10 when its not my fault !!
Any suggestions/tips etc. The company in question is Simply Computers.

Have you contacted them about the problem? were they any help? normally they will happily replace or refund items which are faulty.
if you havent already contacted them then why not give them a bell

Further, under the United Kingdom's Distance Selling Regulations, you have
the right to cancel the contract for the purchase of any of these items
within a period of 7 working days, beginning with the day after the day on
which the item is delivered. This applies to all of our products. However,
we regret that we cannot accept cancellations of contracts for the purchase
of video, DVD, audio, video games and software products where the item has
been unsealed. Please note that we are unable to accept cancellation of, or
returns for, digital items once downloading has commenced

Right spent 1.5 HOURS on the phone to simply support, then apple, then simply support. Customer services tell me they only offer a repair on the item not a refund. This is not legal if I remember correctly. Anyone confirm/deny this ?

Stueyb - providing you act within a resonable timescale, you are entitled to ask for your money back. Sale of Goods Act 1979. Goods purchased must be fit for purpose. Given your circumstances, the item cannot be descibed as such. Do a Google search on SoG Act - you'll find loads of info.
