Default Speed camera van

Can they get you if you are traveling away from them?

Yes, if it's a video van.

Usually the camera in it is scanning vehicles as they approach, follows a likely suspect and takes a reading and speed when they are fairly close, but there is no legal or technical reason why they can't do cars going the other way and sometimes they do.

I imagine you'll be spending the next two weeks checking your post with trepidation. Good luck.

BTW which police force area were you in?

If the van was facing the opposite direction to what you were travelling, then yes.

The cameras in revenue vans either point out the back of the van, or out the side if theyre parked on bridges.

Yes, my car was caught from a van on the other side of a dual carriageway.

Well there's only 3 variables then.
Was the van facing towards you or away from you? (Humberside's vans have the cameras in the back)
How fast were you going? (If you have a speed reading from a GPS device that would be ideal)
What was the speed limit?
Most of their vans seem to sit in 30s and 40s though they cover the M180 a lot also.
They used to give out a tiny booklet listing where they all are, dunno if they still do but it might be worth picking one up for future reference.
