Anyone got/had a Bengal Cat?
My cat, Hassan just died
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v9...s/noneleft.jpg (he's not dead in the pic - he was just resting in the sun)
So I'll be getting a new one.
I'm looking at Begals, but am a little worried that they're a little crayzee and will need much more attention than the average Tabby.
cheers

mate has a bengal cat, looks absolutely gorgeous evil little begger though, OK to play with but they try to let it out, it kills all sorts (and I dont mean the odd mouse) aparently its come home with another cat before.... found it in next doors house too and had cornered their cat which had shat all over the room scared sh!tless cause this thing had been after it... saying that though it was orginanally brought in from Dubai and was wild when they first took it in even though it was a kitten when they got it..... I know I wouldnt want 1 after that

Sorry to hear about your loss mate; loosing a pet is never easy. Personally -if you dont mind the extra effort involved in ownership- I'd consider a dog, much better companions IMHO!
Best.
Best.

our front garden is a mess with turds being left all over, our poor dog is a mess because he isnt let out sort the ******* out, i have seen them kipping on my roof (attacked with a hose pipe) kipping under my back box (attacked with a startup and a blip of the throttle) walking across my bonnet (gave a few nasty "shoooooooooos")
and taunting my dog by playing "garden hopping"

Haven't got one but i gave Anne at llandar a call to ask about them once, she didn't seem to think they're any more difficult than regular cats. Only thing she did mention was that they get lonely so if i was going to be out for long periods of the day i should get 2 - at £500 each.
Good people though...

Don't suppose you happen to know what generation that cat was? They come from a wild cat bread with a domestic so anything less than an F4 is best left to the pro's apparently.

.....although I am now left with this annoying grey ball of fluff with the most annoying meow in the world!

doesnt look nowt like the average tabby, it honestly has marking that resemble a tiger although colour is obviously different, I dont know the generation unfortunately. sorry. Ive only seen it once (mate lives 200 miles away)like I said though it was a wild kitten taken off the streets of Dubai so might not be the average bengal cat u get here?

Beautiful cats. You do need a dangerous animal licence for the F1's though, but since they would cost probably a 5 figure sum I don't suppose they would be on most peoples' shopping list
"Dogs make the best companions" for you maybe but not for everyone!

We have one , female , 2 1/2 years old
they are quite hyperactive and require a lot of attention ( wouldn't recommend letting them out ) but it is all worth it they are really entertaining
if you are interested Steve and Elaine at www.wildside-bengals.com are great folks with some fantastic cats , from £450 last I knew
quick pic of ours

I haven't a clue about keeping cats but it sounds cruel. I'm sure you really take care of the cat but do you not sometimes feel it's a little cruel not to let it out? Even in some kind of run? Not having a go, just wondering how you feel about this.

cats need to get out full stop.
anything else is just cruel.
so what if they drop a log in next door's flowerbed, or snaffle a few fish?
acts rule

Beautiful cats, I'd love one but I'd be worried that a cat like this really needs space and it's not really fair to keep it house bound surely?
Not only that, my current cat already bullies our boxer dog! I think both pets would leave home if I introduced a bengal.
Papascooby - are you in the 'burbs or sticks?? (obviously sticks is better).
How do these cats get on in the home with other pets??

See? You get used to it. Maybe an occasional looking out of the window longing to be set free. The glance of a particularly attractive bird that you wouldn't mind having a go at.
And as for being married ...

when I say that we don't let ours out , she does go out on the garden with us but to be honest she has little interest , if we come back in she follows us back in
it is not unheard of for bengals to kill other cats if let out

Are they that much bigger than a normal moggy, theres a few standard size cats down our road but then theres Benny, a mentalist black and white Tom Cat who is massive and responsible for sales of Waney Lap fencing going up by 80% in the immediate vicinity, he just breaks the top off, the fat ******, cant imagine anything short of a moderately sized Puma would sort him out, I wear Adidas so havent tried.
Are Bengals killer cats from the future ?, perhaps they could be dubbed the Furminator ?

What a great looking cat!! Lol at Benny, he must be related to Tiffy, our neighbours' gender confused tom - he's definitely Top Cat around our way although our two have now taken the 'tag-team' approach to him
