Nothing like the salaries listed by recruitment companies in the likes of Contract Journal!

I think a lot will depend on where in the country you want to / are prepared to work...

Our site managers (flash title for a G.F. in my book) get about 24k.

And that's local authority.

Would agree with above, I work for a major construction company and its a max of £35K plus BUPA, Car and Life Insurance. Usual working hours a week around 50.

Depends on what you mean by 'site manager'. For private contractors (the environment I know) a manager running medium sized jobs (£5m or so) in London you could be looking at £40-£50k, (maybe more dwpending on project) plus associated benefits.

Outside of London, running smaller jobs, you'd be looking at £5k-£10k less depending on who / where it was.

I'd say finishing foreman positions would be at less money than a SM, probably £10k less???
