The Sky+ box only dials up and sends your PPV choices at intervals, rather than every time you watch a PPV film. If you unplug the Sky+ box from the phone line, you can watch PPV movies for a few days until it next tries to dial up - when it fails it'll block PPV until it can next dial. It'll also make you phone up manually for authorisation everytime you want to watch PPV. When the Sky box is next plugged in to the phone line, you'll get billed for all the films it's remembered.
