Default New York City..........USA.

Hi all, wifey and I have decided to visit New York next year after being an ambition of mine for many a year, thing is............

......after searching various threads on here and elsewhere, I've managed to gather loads of bits of info, but need info on booking flights and hotels seperately as I believe it may work out cheaper in the long run (?).

Or, could someone point me in the right direction of a decent informative website?

Cheers.

Skoosh.

I came back yesterday. I booked the flights direct with Virgin Atlantic online who were the cheapest £290 all in.
I stayed in the New Yorker Hotel and booked it on their website which was pretty much slap bang in the middle of everything, a few mins walk from Empire State and stones throw from Madison Square garden etc. About £200 for a room with 2 doubles for 4 nights from wednesday to sunday.

Hope thats of some use.

We're going just before Christmas, paid £320 with American (Manchester -> Heathrow -> JFK).

Radio City Apartments have had many positive comments on here, just do a search. We're not staying there though, I've opted for some bargain basement hovel (yes, correct spelling) so there's more money to spend We're only planning on being in the room for bedtime.

We stayed in the Hotel Metropolitan on Lexington and 51st I think. Cheap enough, but very nice hotel.

Thumbs up

I did exactly the same as Jamin last month.

The New Yorker is ideally placed and priced too.

You will have a great time and Can't wait to go back in January probably.

Hi, Wifey of Wrxsmo here.
I am off to New York next Thursday with my mum and we are staying in the
Holiday Inn Hotel Martinque. It is costing us £380 for a three night stay.
Not the cheapest place, let's hope it's okay. I have seen mixed reviews
but that's the same for all hotels.... You can't please everyone.

Hi all , thanx for replies.

I'll start some in-depth info searching as soon as we've organised a family member ( ie:Mother-in-law ) to look after the kids. That probably sounds tight but we've just returned from a week in Turkey and are bolloxed.

Can't wait to go though.

Thanx again.

Sk.

You could also try http://www.priceline.co.uk which allows you to name your own price.
