Good to see the old girl again, I have got that one in my log book. Looking a bit secondhand now though.
He is aiming for a bit of a mark-up, they only cost £3K deliverd to your airfield when they went out of commission.
I am keeping my fingers crossed for 558 at Bruntingthorpe when she has been refurbished, its underway now and shoulf be done by next June I hear. Just hope they will let me fly her.

On 01-Nov-04 at 15:31:53 GMT, seller added the following information:

The Blackpool one is in very poor condition with a LOT of corrosion apparantly. Even moving it could be dangerous and it could be deemed unsafe and a scrapping/breaking order placed upon it......hence its for sale....buyer beware, lol.
As Leslie says, 558 is being restored/returned to flight now, get yer wallets out you lot the quicker they get the rest of the money they need the quicker she'll fly

my old fella used to build them at Avro
they are bad *** **** planes, but if I had the money to spend on a model for my massive back garden/collection, it would have to be one of these:

Didnt notice that, durr.
Seven and a Half million quid for a knackered plane that will never fly again, somebody has too much money, I expected it to go for 20 grand or so to museum or consortiom of enthusiasts. How will they move it if its as rusty as it looks ?

From another forum about this a/c....
"Info i have from a guy who knows a lot about this aircraft is not too good at all, there are No instruments inside it and its corroded to the point of falling apart. He also said its not even worth £2K yet alone the £6K asking price ,in reality is a Scrapper im affraid and without instruments in it its not a worthy cockpit contender either"
and
"The scrap value is less that the original £6k starting price so you won't be getting any scrap men bidding - besides the airframe is so badly corroded that it isn't even worth saving as scrap"
Madness!
