Not my cup of tea, but a good effort considering they were making it up as they went along.
Anyway the reason for my post, did anyone else notice how the lady became more attractive as the program went on?

She wasn't all that, but her personality, reason and taste seem to get worse and worse throughtout the program!
When I first started watching it, I expected the house to be very vulgar and unfinished by the end! Oh well..... I hate it when I'm right!!!

The blokes idea and concept of the house is pretty damn good, as it took full advantage of the scenary. Taking into account the "typical" Spanish way at house design (box, with the odd rounded turret section and small windows), it probably was the way to go.
Unfortunatley with such a design incorperating so many angles. It's easy to see why it would look like a shopping centre, especially if it was furnished using ultra modern furnishings. So maybe the woman's idea (as tasteless as she was) was onto a good plan by using rustic furnishing. Just her chioce of colours and type of rustic furnishings was wrong. But the concept would take away the clinical aspect of the building design
If it was done with modern styling - it would have looked like the RAC call centre by the M6 to M5 south interchange.
From what it looks like, to me, it will end up looking like a American Ski resort hotel/lodge. With all the OTT cluttery add ons to match.
One thing that shocked me is how TF they got the planning permission to build it, with the way the Valencia government work on building and conservation areas (which it is built in). Obviously they know the right people I can't see how a mini-market/shop owner can finance the project, unless his family owns a diamond mine!
I know the lake where that is, so I think I'll have a look next time I'm out in Valencia

Although the "abroad" series gives a startling insight into overseas planning systems - particularly Italy, Its still a tired old story plot.
Why can't Kev find a bit more variety on the - bitten off more than they can chew/ I can't see this working/ they're way behind schedule/ its starting to come together/I'm coming around to there way of thinking/ the design has grown on me/what a wonderful conclusion - plot each week.
The Spanish one started off in the same theme so I switched off after 1/2 hour.

I didn't think much to the house last night, thought less of the couple so I was quite suited that they had to stoop to get in the bedroom then not be able to see out of the window

I can vouch for the fact that he doesn't drink in the week and she did get fitter towards the end of the programme.
Both his and her accent got on my **** by the end and his over-use of, "that's a really good question" etc. wasn't grating on me at all!
