TV Problems
Hiya all
I have just got given a free TV from some friends, but after getting it home it isnt working
When you turn it on it goes to power up and then after about 2 seconds it shuts down back to standby, it never stays on long enough to get a picture. It is a Sony KV-821X2U
Has anyone had a problem like this or does anyone know what the problem might be and how much it might cost to repair?
The TV has been in a garage for a day, do u think it could just be damp and it got knocked around a bit in transport as it had to be led down as it was on a stand.
Any help would be great
Cheers

if the tv has a fault, you will get a sequence of flashing led activity from the
off on led.
check that the remote has freah batts, or the standby button is not stuck down

Assuming it worked ok before....
Did you just the get TV out the cold and put into a warm room and switch it on straight away?
Not a very clever idea. If that's the case condensation may have fried a few chips, you maybe lucky and get away with it.
Needs around 3-5 hours at the very least, to make sure any condensation has evaporated. Give it a while, it may be ok the next day.
Other likely fault from standing or being moved is a dry solder joint somewhere - needle in a heystack, but fixable.
