Saw a national store was advertising very good deals on fireworks , so i popped out to get some..

went to the local branch, .. they were closed for refurb.
so went to the next local branch and placed my order...
well only got some of it..

rockets ... the selection i wanted sold out

The multi shot pancake ...... sold out..

The confidantly stated.. your local branch will reopen on thursday. they will have loads of stock....

So thursday 8.45 am i was quieng up with the happy 21 month old in tow(babysitting day) ,at the till at 9:02 am and placed my order for 13 pankackes.. payed my money and the assistant went off to get them...
there were another couple with me who wanted a similar f/work but they only wanted three ...

so the asistant comes back and says ,, ive got the first three, So me bieng the gent, says to the assistant to let the others have them, as i would prefer a sealed box...so the two other guys go off... and the assistant cpmes back 5 mins later..

"sorry sir we,ve sold out" WTF ... I wasnt a happy bunny to say the least

I quiried how they could sell out, as i was the first customer FFS

"we only got sent three of this item.."

WTF!!! i showed her the brochure i reminded here that you dont produce 5000 flyers offering products, when you dont have them!! The girl was hopless, all she said was i,ll sign your recipt and you can come back when we have another delivery..by this time small person was pi**ed off so i went back to the car..on the way i had a thought "hang on, how are they going to know what i wanted... so i went back..
Spoke to the district manager .. not much help either.. but she took my details, and gave me some firework saftey legislation crap..

I know it was crap, cos i used to work with explosives, and i remembered the classification when the box of fireworks was brought out.!! anyway i called it a day and went home.. i called there head office and let fly.they were concerned that i had been sold stock which the store clearly didnt have, and i hadnt been offered a refund.. ( complaint logged)

They were better but couldnt really help, but give them there due, they called back within 20 mins, and let me know that a delivery was due friday, and i should be ok..

Friday...

dont bother.... no delivery. no fireworks. no refund.. no help...
another call to head office..

I get a call from the store manager 20 min later all appologetic.. yes there would be a delivery on saturday, and they would put them by for me, however i may not get the qty i wanted but they would give me a refund if needs be..
Saturday..

8.50 am i get a call from the manager, your fireworks are in only 6 of them though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so i pop down to collect them...

As i arrive at the store, the bloke looks a bit puzzled, but goes off to find the fireworks....And buggerme the fire alarm goes off...

yes you guessed, we have to evacute the store..... after about 15 mins, we can go back in, the manager comes out and speaks to me ,,

"we got the delivery, but they sent xx instead of yy they should be ok though" I asked to have a look... so we went out back to check them..
My original purchase was for 13 100 shot pancakes... they sent 6 18 shot roman candles..

Not impressed...so I asked for my money back which i got..

As she is running the details through the till i seee the delivery sheet for the fireworks...

there total order was for about 20 items!!!!!!!!!

WTF..

if you want fireworks,, dont go to a certain chain, they advertise loads

but have bugger all

I personally have no problem with people letting them off on Firework night itself, just the idiots who start a week early and continue for a week afterwards.

Keeping your pets indoors for one night a year that you know about well in advance is reasonable.

Jerome, you are very lucky if your local chavs are only letting them off for two weeks, it's more like 2 or 3 months here

Never seen the point in spending all that cash for something that lasts for a few seconds, I though a cocaine habit was expensive ( I dont do cocaine BTW)

Absolutely. And anyone who can't see the problem with letting off fireworks on any day other than November 5th is obviously a chav!
