Not pleasant viewing ....
** disturbing footage **
Sorry footage removed, not nice at all.
Does anyone know what type of racing this is ?
As the guy filming says, "Where were the red flags ?"

Looks something along the lines of the Daytona 500, doesn't look like Daytona though - infield too small. They use part of the oval track, and some of the infield so it's not just a huge circle.
Tragic accident, good to see the rider recovered enough to try and help, if nothing else.

On second looks it maybe Daytona.
One Marshall is alive...well He's moving, dunno where the other one is. Rider is out cold, but has alot better chances.
Any accident is tragic whatever the outcome!
It has enough warnings ...viewer discretion???

WHat were those marshalls on. How about helping the downed rider off the track first, then - when "safe" - go for the bike?
As said before, good to see the first rider go back to help, but he was also needlessly risking himself - assuming red flags weren't being waved by then.

It was removed because sammyh has decided, on our behalf, that it is too graphic for us delicate, cotton wool wrapped little flowers because presumably we are incapable of living with the consequences of the decisions we make for ourselves!

no it was just a bike crash, wasnt nowt special. then another bike drove high speed into 2 stewards who picked the other bike up, didnt see anything bad, nothing worse than you would see in a 15 rated movie apart from the fact it was real and not special effects

Some wuss probably RTM'd....get the FACTS before removing!
They could have all survived
Get onto Rotton.com and numb yourself to the real world...IT HAPPENS
DEAL WITH IT...it said "not pleasent viewing" on the thread title...and "disturbing footage" if you don't like it don't click it...plenty of warning.
How long do you need to be wrapped in cotton wool?
Spoil it for everybody, and now completely ruined a thread about how races should be managed and how health and saftey should be dealt with Marshalls. Selfish People!

yeah I thought the warning was clear enough. Its not as though there was blood n gore or anything ... just the fact that it was real ...

www.Bikepics.com
click "browse bike movies" on the left, then "accidents" It's the mpeg in the middle on the top row.
This connection is far slower than the orignial link...but it's not direct so should avoid the wusses

I have seen someone get stabbed in a film, head cut off etc, but that does not mean I am ready to see one of the Iraqi hostages get his head cut off!

Oh dear, bash the mods and SN policy time again is it?
Bottom line here, someone probably RTM'd the thread, and the mods have to act, simply as that. Those are the rules, end of story.
You no like? go to policy and complain in there.
All this "ooh, mary whitehouse, ooh, PC" Just deal with it. Like I say, there is a place to complain if you feel this action is not right.
Sammy - not that you need to, but fancy stating whether this was a mod's descretion thing, or a result of an RTM, just to keep the dummy throwing to a minimum.
