Default best price for TomTomGo.. £412.92 (Amazon)?

is this the best price? is there a catch?
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...922652-1242035

or is it better to walk into Currys and getthem to price match.. as Currys have them in stock at £499.

also.... to get TTG to have the warning of speed cameras programmed to it.. do you use the SD card with it.. or buy another?
is this a down loadable function you do yourself?

Hi Phil - the speed camera warning stuff is something that you download and add as a PoI (Point of Interest) onto the SD card. The SD card holds the maps and the OS.

Cool

Comet online do it for £412.

TTG is a brilliant piece of kit and would recommend it to anyone.
Before you can add the safety cameras database you have to upgrade the TTG version to 4.40 first, this requires a couple of foreign voices to be removed to free up some space on the 128Mb SD card, the database can then be added.

where do you download it from? My boyfriends just bought one, don't know much about it myself but I know he'll be interested in speed camera warning download! He works away a lot hence the reason for buying it but he gets paranoid about speed cameras when he doesn't know the area especially with that many speed traps around now.

Hi SB...

Have a look at the thread that Scoobychick mentions above. That one contains links to the relevant sites for the PoI downloads.

Just remember that, because the speed camera PoIs are added on a voluntary basis, they are by their nature not quite as up to date or accurate as Road Angels etc...

You need to 'import' the speed camera database into the maps on the SD card of the Go. It's pretty straightforward TBH. Once you've done that, you can assign a sound to the PoI, to indicate proximity.

Any probs, PM me.

Cheers, HB.
