TV making high pitched whine
This is doing my head in, my 28in Widescreen flat LG TV has started making a subtle high pitched whining noise, I know for a fact its the telly cos the noise stops for a few seconds when I give it a smack! 
The volume is right down and it makes no diff if I mute it
Any thoughts? the telly is only about a year or so old so dont really wanna throw it out

If my memory serves me correctly its the tube ringing..
i cant remember if its an electrical fault, or a artifact of the tv system though.
if under gtee take it back, but be prepared for an argument.
cos you wont hear a thing in a tv shop ....
